Vision Products is open for business!
The state of Wisconsin has in place a “safer at home” order that has temporarily affected Vision Products production. Our customer service teams are able to work remotely and are available to help you place an order, or answer any questions that you may have.
The phone system that we have put in place to manage phone calls remotely is not as quick as the office system, so please be patient with us if you get a recorded message. It does not mean that we are closed! Customer service representatives will respond just as soon as they are able. We strongly encourage you to leave a voicemail or send an email if you don’t immediately reach someone- often our reps are on the phone for long periods of time helping customers configure orders.
The “safer at home” order is scheduled to last until April 24, and until that time (or until the order is lifted) our manufacturing staff is required to stay away from work. That is the bad news. The good news is that before the stoppage our production teams were working ahead of schedule in anticipation of this closure.
Here is our best guess on how lead times will be affected:
- Existing orders – approximately the length of our facility is closed plus one week to get back up to running to full capacity.
- New orders – lead times will get longer as the closure continues. Priority and Rush* orders will be placed into the queue before standard orders.
We are accepting orders and placing them in the production queue, so when we reopen there will be a significant backlog of orders to work through. If you are considering placing an order for an aquarium or custom cage, then waiting to place your order will prolong the time it takes to get it to you. The way to get your order sooner is to order right away and get into the production schedule as soon as possible. Choosing the Priority or Rush* options will jump your order earlier in the production schedule.
Accessory and easy-to-fulfill orders are currently being filled on a limited basis by a few fulfillment department workers who have permission to work a very limited number of hours each week. We hope to be able to keep up with accessory order lead times but cannot guarantee on-time arrival.
We have been asked by some customers contemplating an order, if Vision Products will survive this crisis… The answer is an emphatic Yes! We have been in business for over 21 years and have learned from other economic downturns. We are prepared for this! Covid-19 will prove to be just one step back in our relentless march forward. We have recently expanded our facility by 17,000 s.f., have excellent production, customer service and management teams in place, and have a lot of new products and features ready to roll out very soon. We are not going anywhere. We will all get through this together, and greatly appreciate your understanding that we… like you… are being affected by this crisis.
We thank you for your support!
